I was wondering what is going on in Noel Labor Day weekend 2009. we will probably be stayin at the river ranch resort in the late night loop and wanna know if there will be much of a night life/party atmosphere that weekend? is it usually a busy weekend? cause thats what we are looking for.

Admin reply: The 4th of July weekend is typically the 3rd busiest weekend of the year. I fully expect there will be plenty of parties going on, especially at River Ranch. You should have a good time!

We are coming down the 4th...since no fireworks are allowed...is there a fireworks display we can see locally?

Admin reply: So far I haven't found anyone doing any large organized fireworks displays IN Noel. Check with your campground staff when you get in and they'll probably know of something nearby.

Looking for some close inexpensive lodging in the area!

Admin reply: Assuming you mean hotel lodging, not campground cabins... Arthur Murray Motel in Noel is a nice classic motel right on the river (on west Hwy 90).
If you want a more modern hotel w/pool there are two new hotels further away from Noel. Super 8 in Anderson (jct. of US71 & Hwy 76) and Booneslick Lodge in Jane (US 71 just N. of Arkansas border).

I'm headed down to the Elk River this weekend. Is it very deep right now?

Admin reply: The river is currently at perfect floating condition. I floated on June 16th and it was one of the easiest float trips I've ever taken.

I am looking for a off the beaten track camp grounds by the river any ideas?

Admin reply: If you want a nice, quiet campground that isn't right up against a highway I'd suggest Eagle's Nest.

My friends and I want to come to Noel and do a float trip. We need a cabin, or multiple cabins that also rent out the tubes. We would like a place that has a party atmosphere. What do you recomend?

Admin reply: From what you mentioned, I'm guessing River Ranch Resort is the best option for you. They have the biggest selection of cabins, and a brand new night club right on the river (at the campground). But if that's not enough of a party for you, they also provide a shuttle bus to Shadow Lake (the biggest weekend party spot by far). Have fun!

Greetings,

I'm looking for some help! I'm seeking a location the second or third of March, 09 where I can safely do some long bicyle training rides on secondary paved roads. Hills are not an issue. Noel looks like it might be such a place. Do you have miles of these type roads in your area?

Thanks!!

Admin reply: Yes, we have many great roads around Noel! I've just posted a map for you of a great 22-25 mile circuit route that would be ideal.
Just click on the "Visitor Info" link at the top of this page, and go to the "Maps" section for a link to a Google Map.
If/when you visit, please leave a note here and let us all know how you enjoyed the trip!
