I have inherited all of our families genealogy records. there is a picture of my grandmother, in 1938, in front of a building with Shadow Lake on the main sign, and a smaller sign underneath with "Shadow Lake Dancing, Boating, Swimming, Dining Room, Fountain Service". I've compared it to the picture from the 50's on the Noel site, and it looks like it is probably the same building. That makes sense, because my grandmother was from Caney Ks. and Probably took a trip there. Does anyone know who I could send the picture to? Admin reply: I highly recommend sending it to the McDonald County Library, as they are in the process of collecting and digitizing historical photos from all around the county. The library website is: http://www.mcdonaldcountylibrary.org/ If you send the photo by mail, the address is: Attn: Digitization Project McDonald County Library 808 Bailey Road Pineville, Missouri 64856

I have fond memories of vacationing in the early 60's, when I was about 11, at a resort near Noel. I can't remember the name of it but I would love to visit the area and locate that resort or what's left of it. It was built on the side of a hill next to a river and had a pool between the river and motel part of the resort. I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me how to locate it. Thanks

We are planning our annual family float trip to the Elk in just a few weeks. Is there a website where I can check the water levels of the river? With the drought we are having in OK I want to make sure there is water in the river before we drive up! thanks! Admin reply: The closest thing I know of to what you are looking for is the USGS Real-Time Water Data for Missouri at: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mo/nwis/rt

DOG FOUND~ She is 3-5 years old and is a terrier. She was found with a black collar with some sort of "doggy dress tie" on it. She seems to have just gotten a hair cut. Please contact me at conniejmt@gmail.com if she belongs to you or someone you know. Thanks, Connie
